About Us

To provide an avenue for donors to support general and specific needs of the community.

The Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families provides the opportunity for organized philanthropy that enriches the quality of life in the communities of Farmington Hills and Farmington by:

Serving as a leader and a resource for philanthropy.
Providing effective ways to benefit community nonprofit organizations.
Making strategic grants to organizations that serve families, youth and children.
Building endowments to help future community needs.

The Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families was incorporated in August 1995 as the “Farmington Hills Community Foundation for Children, Youth and Families”. At that time the founders were seeking a method to financially support the After-School Program for middle school students. That service, administered through the City of Farmington Hills, was operating under a Juvenile Justice System grant that was about to expire.

In March of 1999 the name was changed to the “Farmington Hills/Farmington Community Foundation, reflecting a broader outreach to both communities.

In 2006, we formed an affiliation with the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan and changed our name from the “Farmington Hills/Farmington Community Foundation” to the “Farmington & Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth & Families” (FFHFYF). Since that time, we have expanded our focus with the goal of granting funds to many worthwhile programs throughout the Farmington Hills and Farmington communities.
