The Farmington / Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families does more than have meetings to give out money -- we're out there working in the community and offering a helping hand. We're involved in programs and events for the young and the young-at-heart, for families and singles, for people who like to be outside, and for those who like an elegant evening out. Check out what's new with the FFH Foundation.
Backpack Program puts spotlight on hunger problemA benefit dinner wouldn't usually feature macaroni and cheese and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches as main entrees. An Oct. 24 fundraiser for the Backpack Program, however, will feature those choices to highlight the program, which places those items, among others, in backpacks for hungry Farmington Public Schools children and families. The Backpack Dinner will be at North Congregational Church starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24. Posted by admin |
Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families thanks Miss Farmington and her courtWhen we think about the Farmington Farmington Hills Foundation for Youth and Families, we tend to think of the adult population as the givers while the youth are the receivers. Well Miss Farmington, Elena Pavlicas and her court reminds us that our youth give back just as much to the community as well!!! Posted by admin |

Executive Director RetiringSearch Committee AppointedBarbara Yuhas, Executive Director of the Farmington/Farmington Hills Foundation, will be retiring early in 2012. Yuhas joined the Foundation in 2003. "This has been a phenomenal experience," said Yuhas. "I’ve had the opportunity to work with a truly committed, supportive Board, had the pleasure of meeting so many wonderful people who make this community the great place it is. And where else would I have the opportunity to accompany Mama Duck on her appearances around town?". Posted by admin |
2011 Rubber Duck RaceLucky Number 7The ducks were the lucky ones on Sunday, July 17. They were in the water, those of us on the shore roasted. The liquid refreshments sold by the Optimist Club and Kona Ice were most welcome. Hundreds of spectators lined the river bank, seeking shade and shelter. But the usual festivities were observed -- admiring the decoy ducks, loading the dump truck, "mixing" the ducks and then chasing them down the river. When all was said and done, it was another wonderful event. Posted by admin |
Thank You To A Generous CommunityLocal businesses and organizations make the Gala a such a huge successA lot of work went into the Gala prior to the event. Board and Gala Committee members were out there soliciting donations from individuals, businesses and civic organizations. Their efforts were rewarded with sponsorship support, contributions to the auction, and advertisers in our program book. We’d like to thank them once again and share their names with everyone in Farmington and Farmington Hills. Posted by admin |
